“The GLO Website: A Public (Federal) Land and Military Bounty Goldmine” presented by Peggy Ash
As a child of professional genealogists, Peggy Ash, has been around genealogy for most of her life.
She is an Accredited Professional Genealogist and has been a co-lead for Level 2-3 Study Groups for accreditation with the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists.
She acquired the Boston University Certificate in Genealogical Research in 2018. She has certificates from 10 courses at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, 4 courses at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, GEDFED, and 1 from the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research. She has participated in many other conferences and courses.
Before the Mesa FamilySearch Library closed, she served as a service missionary and trainer there and taught classes. She taught weekly community genealogy classes before her husband’s illness, death, and Covid. She also did presentations locally to family history societies
As a decades-long member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, she served on the Company board for many years.
She currently volunteers and teaches classes at the FamilySearch area of the Mesa Temple Visitors’ Center. She continues to give presentations to local family history societies.

For fun outside of genealogy, she enjoys hiking, long walks, running, family, friends, and gospel study.
