The system of US Courts holds many records that can be both helpful and confusing in your genealogical researching.  Come learn some terminology, history, record keeping, and record searching practices that hopefully will alleviate some confusion when navigating the world of the US Courts System.  Special emphasis will be on federal courts and “circuit” courts.

Funeral home and cemetery records can be one of the most valuable genealogical resources family historians. Funeral homes are generally private businesses; therefore, they are under no obligation to provide information to the public. Even with this obstacle their records can often be accessed for family history/genealogy purposes. Learn what information funeral home records contain and how they vary by location, time period, culture and religion. Learn about possible websites, manuscript collections,
libraries/archives that may also hold these records for public use.
